Helping Women and Children Rebuild Their Lives
Founded in February 2000, Connections for Life, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping women help themselves. We provide a twelve-step re-entry and transitional housing program for women coming from prison, treatment facilities, battered women’s shelters and other referral agencies.
Each woman (resident) is provided an initially rent-free, fully-furnished apartment, clothing, food, job placement assistance, financial management assistance and access to medical care. The resident is required to attend twelve step recovery meetings and begins contributing toward her expenses upon obtaining gainful employment. Connections provides transportation to and from work, medical appointments, grocery store, recovery meetings, etc.
Connections seeks to empower each woman to achieve economic self-sufficiency, physical well-being and emotional healing. Our goal is to help the women we serve learn how to be proactive in improving their lives and to go from being dependent to being independent.
Our program runs on the hard work of our dedicated volunteer community. No matter how busy your schedule is, there’s always a way for you to contribute at Connections for Life:
- Give clothing, furniture, monetary donations, food and more
- Volunteer at our office, thrift store or food pantry
- Spread the word about our organization
