What is Connections For Life?

Connections For Life, Inc. (Connections) is 501 (c)3 non-profit that was founded in 2000 by Myria Andre-Martin. Myria has been serving women in need for over thirty years and was co-founder of Myriam’s House. Connections is a twelve month transitional housing and re-entry program that serves women coming from prison, treatment facilities, battered women’s shelters and other referral agencies. Each woman (resident) is provided an initially rent-free, fully furnished apartment, clothing, food, job placement assistance, financial management assistance and access to medical care. The resident begins contributing towards her expenses upon obtaining gainful employment. Each resident is required to attend twelve step recovery meetings. Connections provides transportation to and from work, medical appointments, grocery store, recovery meetings, etc. Donations from the community allow Connections to provide these services. The objective of our program’s services is to empower each woman to achieve economic self-sufficiency, physical well being and emotional healing. Connections exists to serve the needs of this target population by providing resources and supportive and rehabilitative services.

We help people to help themselves. Connections accepts only those women who are proactive in bettering their lives.
